Sakura Matou Figure, Fate Heaven’s Feel, Makiri no Hai (Aniplex) 1/7

The official Twitter of Aniplex Plus Japan revealed that this new figure of Matou Sakura – Makiri no Hai will be released on the 21st of March; preorders will open in Japan at noon while new pictures of the final painted version will be released on Twitter before the official commercialization. The first announcement of an upcoming figure of Matou Sakura from the second chapter of Fate Heaven’s Feel- Lost Butterfly was teased by Aniplex during the winter edition of the popular hobby convention at Wonder Festival 2019. An unpainted prototype has been showed for the first time only one year later at WonFes Winter 2020.

The first figure of the Dark version of Sakura also called Dark Sakura or Makiri’s Grail is produced by a collaboration between Aniplex and Stronger that already worked on a figure of Saber Alter presented along with this figure of Sakura from the “Lost Butterfly” chapter. A previous version of Makiri Sakura exists but according to MFC the official release was in 2011 with Gift as the official manufacturer.

Born from the skilled hands of Miyajima Katsuyoshi I think that there couldn’t be a better sculptor for this figure after seeing their previous works of other popular characters corrupted by the darkness like Homura Akemi. Miyajima Katsuyoshi is credited as the original sculptor of some of the best selling figures of Stronger and Aniplex with their version of Homura that ranks among the top 10 of the most popular figures ever on myfigurecollection (MFC link).
