News
Kadokawa presented the official painted version of Saber Alter/ Heaven’s Feel Version at the annual winter WonFes 2020.
Announced for the first time in January 2019 to commemorate the release of the second Heaven’s Feel movie (Lost Butterfly) by Hobby Dengeki, this figure of Saber Alter in her Kimono version is still in production with a collaboration between Kadokawa and Revolve which is credited as the original manufacturer. The illustration which inspired the devolpment of this figure was drawn by Takeuchi Takeshi and published on the February 2019 issue of Newtype magazine.
The original illustration shows Saber Alter wearing a kimono, particularly a kimono worn by Oirans.
Some photos of the unpainted prototype were posted on Revolve and KD Colle official Twitter accounts in July 2019 while the figure was presented during the Mega Hobby Autumn 2019 exposition. A recent post on the popular online magazine Hobby Dengeki revealed new informations and a review of the prototype; the original post refers to the release of the last movie of Heaven’s feel – Spring Song that will open in Japan on the 28th of March 2020.

About this Figure| Kadokawa, Revolve
Born as a collaboration between Revolve, Newtype magazine and Hobby Dengeky (both owned by Kadokawa), this figure of Saber Alter in her Kimono version is probably one of the most awaited Fate figures considering that the first announcement was posted one year ago. The artist credited for the 3d sculpting is Nobuta (Revolve), a popular sculptor that already worked with various companies like Alter and Aniplex and is credited for many popular figures like the recent Asuka Jersey Version (here), Rem in her Yukata (here) and a previous figure of Saber Alter (here).
The photos of the prototype already looks amazing and my only complaint is probably with the eyes of Saber Alter that seems to follow the same expressionless path of his previous figure of this character. Oiran kimonos are usually very complex both in terms of sculpting and coloring; an example could be this figure of Rem made by Furyu (here).
