Ques Q presented the unpainted version of the prototype during the annual Winter Wonfes 2020.
The first announcement of a figure of Reimu Hakurei as seen on the Koumajou Densetsu game (Legend of Scarlet Devil Castle) goes back to the 2016 edition of WonFes. After that many announcements with different illustrations of Reimu were showed by Ques Q during various Hobby events.

About this Figure | Ques Q
It can take a lot of time to plan, color and produce a figure but this 1/8 figure of Reimu Hakurei is definitely among the longest awaited figures considering that there aren’t other figures of Reimu in her Koumajou Densetsu version. Ques Q is the only figure company that is producing Koumajou Densetsu figures of the Touhou franchise and this is the only figure left after the official release of Remilia Scarlet and Izayoi Sakuya.
While the previous figures of this series were sculpted by Sec.C.Noin, this time two new sculptors are working on this figure of Reimu Hakurei: Miyata Natsuho and Takeuchi Gotaro. Miyata is known for the last figures of Ques Q from the SSSS. Gridman franchise while Gotaro has mostly worked on DC figures.
